Antimadox shows us three characters - played by Matteo Bonfitto, Suia Legaspe and Beto Amorim - who are long-time friends and who meet in a bar/guesthouse that has been left to rot in a decaying seaside town. Little by little, we understand that their lives have been the same for years, that the town they are in is a forgotten city, lost in time. They seem to repeat the same actions, the same jokes, the same fights, day after day after day, for countless years. Madox arrives in the town and destabilizes each of its inhabitants, challenging the symbolic system that supported their social and emotional relationships and all their certainties. The three characters in the play spent the last three nights alone with this man: Dionysian nights, filled with drinking and gambling. The three had an encounter with Madox that left a chasm in their tedious and truth-filled lives. But something is even harder to accept: The three spent the last three nights alone with the same man. Each one in his own house, at the same time. Madox's supposed ubiquity distorts the boundaries of time/space as these people knew it. Together with these notions of classical physics, he also distorts the entire perception of what is REAL for these figures. In the same way, the audience will also be faced with these paradoxes through the play of staging that articulates video mapping, music, cinema, lights and the play of the actors in an attempt to create a performative universe as unique as it is disturbing.
