In this show, Beckett's mastery met Oida's mastery. In tune with the craftsmanship put into practice by Peter Brook, with whom he has collaborated for over fifty years, Yoshi Oida distilled Endgame, making it unspectacular, in order to expose the human in all its vulnerability. This operation deeply guided our rehearsals and is present in this show not only in the acting, but also in the proposed scenic minimalism. With few elements and no walls, Oida, with Beckett, places us in an open, shifting place... A show built on the rigor with which the actors place themselves at the service of the work, as channels, establishing a deeply existential experience from their play. This show was rehearsed between March and April 2019 in Montreuil, near Paris. In September, Endgame premiered at Sesc Ipiranga, in the city of São Paulo, where it completed a season of 20 performances. The play then traveled to Cuba for three performances at the 18th Havana International Theater Festival. Back in São Paulo, it premiered for its second season - this time with six performances - at the Cúpula do Theatro Municipal de São Paulo. Matteo Bonfitto was nominated for the SHELL AWARD for BEST ACTOR in 2019.
